Hey, i've just read everything on the internet related to experiences of Cholinergic Urticaria, but i couldn't find a clear way out

So, i'm 19 and i've been experiencing itches for about 3 years. Back then it was only mild hair and face itchyness when having Spicy food like some pizzas and when doing some intensive exercise in P.E

It all aggravated when i moved to college and stopped having P.E. I stopped practising any kind of sport or physical activity rather than walking.

I'm very slim though. I think i have a balanced diet, having like pizza on fridays and a hamburguer on saturdays and i'm not allergic to any food or any substance that i'm aware of.

Symptoms are like you all know, i go out from home, and when i get into the classroom, all heated up, seems like my body retains the heat from the coat, i don't sweat and i break into a very itchy and embarrasing allergic reaction. I get little pin points on my wrists and chest and back along redness.
I went to the doctor and told me that she have had patients with that condition and she just prescribed some antihistamines, which i didn't even bother taking.

The thing is, that during summer, after some very strong reactions during the last days of May when temps rise, seems like i start sweating again, normally, and i don't get any hives until the cold comes again, around September.

I have tried many times exercising, indoor, i just couldn't stand getting the allergic reaction while riding a bike or jogging, and it ends up in a pointless attemp of getting strong reaction in 5 mins, and a very fast heart rate along shiverings if i try to keep on with the hives going on.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Why have you not tried the antihistamines? Sounds like you have a temperature change reaction. I get a bad allergic reaction upon getting out of the warm shower into the normal temperature bathroom. It causes large areas of itch, red welts. Once I started an antihistamine, I no longer have the problem.

Hello. I'm new to this forum I read your question and was wondering where you read everything about CU. I too have the same, including Lupus. I take Hydroxizine four times a day, plus once a month my allergist has me do a plasma infusion, called IV/IG. This, plus other meds for the Lupus has eased the symptoms. For the first year, I was going to the ER, because it felt like anaphalaxis, so I was treated as if I was having an allergy attack.
My Rheumatologist and my Allergist think that both disorders were feeding off each other. I am feeling better. Hope this helps.

Hi gupta,
Glad you are feeling better. However, you cannot promote a doctor like that on this forum. Please read the forum rules before posting again.
