Hi there, I know that there is already a post about OAS, but I thought I would put another one as this one is slightly different.

I have had allergic reactions to fruits and veggies for a couple of years, and I finally decided to do some research, and came across OAS. I have been a sufferer of hayfever since I was very little, and my reactions sound very similar to other people with OAS. My choice of fruits and veggies is very limited right now. I'm still a teenager(16), and I know that I need fruits and veggies to grow up healthy, but I can't get the recommended daily intake without my throat itchin like crazy. I was wondering if anyone knew of any suppliments for fruits and veggies? I don't think I've seen pills, like you can get with vitamins and minerals, but who knows what's out there.

Thanks for any help!

You're right! - when you are allergic to something that can cause you a lack of vitamins and minerals, that's not a very healthy thing!

Do you take a multivitamin? There are many on the market that you could try. And you do mention that you do have a few fruits and veggies that you can still eat? So between the two, I think you are off to a healthy start!

One other suggestion - there are also drinks that are available that can supplement vitamins and minerals, like Ensure and Boost, just to name a couple. You might want to try that.

Let me know how you are doing and keep up the research!! That's absolutely wonderful to see someone at your age trying to find help like that - that's what I do, too! smile

Thank you very much Teri16!

I was on a multivitamin a year ago when I was vegetarian, to get the iron I was missing. I haven't taken any in a while, but I fully plan on getting some more. Do you know what kind of a multivitamin would be good for my age?

I love doing my research for anything! My doctor is very very busy, and I'm not sure he does allergy testing, so I figured that if I wanted to know what was bothering me, the internet was the best!

Again, thank you so much for your help!
