Hello - has anyone experienced itching on various parts of the body without a rash?
I have been suffering from this for a few months now and I went to see my Dr. today and she told me that it was most likely allergies and so she ordered a few blood tests (kidney, liver, allergy etc). But I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
I take Benadryl every other night and it takes the itching away! Kinda worried about it because I am an Ulcerative Colitis patient and have taken a lot of prednisone over the years as well as the mesalamine that I take daily and both can affect your liver!

I had that....does it feel like a deep itch? That no matter how much you scratch you just can't seem to make it stop?

The first time I had that it went on for 6 months...was driving me nuts! Never had a rash, liver enzymes were good, checked all the outside allergens etc so I decided to try going gluten free. I did that for a month and the itching went away. Was it coincidence or doing the GF?? I honestly don't know. I slowly went back on gluten. Didn't have an issue with the itching for about a year when it came back. This time it lasted for 2 months and disappeared just as quickly as it came on. This time I did nothing to alter my diet.

I honestly don't know what it is so I have no answers. But it's frustrating.

YES! It is very annoying - I even get in the shower and put the water as hot as I can and it just doesn't go away.

I did start eating gluten here and there back in the winter months so I guess it could be that but I'm not sure! I was gluten free for a whole year before that and never had one problem with itching.

You can try doing the GF again...wouldn't hurt eh?

But the best thing I found to help with the itch is Gold Bond medicated anti-itch cream. Also Cortisone anti-itch cream works good too, just not as well as Gold Bond.
