I was born with asthma and at 4 years old I was put on Prednisone. I was an active kid, I never just sat around yet I gained alot of weight. Im 17 now, I've tried all I can think of and can't even lose 1 pound. I've tried diets, herbalife, diatomaeous earth, exercise, even down to not eating. I've even went to my doctor for help but they just give me a list of what foods to stay away from. Can anyone give me any tips as to how I can lose weight? I don't know if it's water weight I've been carrying around or if it's from eating alot.

I have had problems with weight too. I would say drink lots of water, this has helped me to feel full. Have soup with lots of water. Have herbal teas, have apple juice or other juice very watered down. DRINK WATER TOO, of course!!!!

If you think you are retaining water, that is another problem. This is something you should discuss with your doctor.

Take care and hope you feel better.

As I've heard for years steroids are the best and worst drugs...how about your bones so far? So many hip replacements at young ages due to AVN, I never knew all this until I did the hip replacement at 72 and took no steroids over my life... for me and older folks, wear and tear of the body.

Any alternatives to the steroids? I've posted what has worked for me for going on 20 yrs and my info is forever deleted.....
OA from age 18 to late 70's....complications from hip replacement in 2010...such a terrible outcome.
Fibro dx in 1999

All all the other "stuff" most deal with....I take 95% supplements for my health care...
Grape Seed Extract and or Pycnogenol have been lifechanging for me, 20 yrs on them soon.

Love the SOM and AA Principles....

My bones are great as far as I know. I have back problems and stress fractures in both wrists due to horse playing in school and letting someone jump on me. I have hip pain but I believe its caused from my back. Im going to talk to my doctor as soon as I can make an appointment. I'm trying to cut back on sodium as well, I feel as if its an addiction.
