My hubby says that I have conjunctivitis so I am going to the doctor tomorrow. This is my first time to ever have this, I didn't even have it as a child. My hubby had it a few times and says that it definitely is. He says that it could be an allergic reaction. I just switched contact lens solution and used it for the first time today and by lunch time my eyes were starting to get really red and itchy. I had no idea that conjunctivitis can be caused by an allergic reaction, I thought that it was viral or bacterial only. Anywho, I just thought I would share since I'm kind of freaked out about it.

Hi Des! tongue

Don't be freaked out.  It'll be okay, just go in and see your Dr. tomorrow. It could very well be an allergic reaction by the way you described it, however, these types of reactions tend to tone down when you remove the cause.  Do not use that solution until you've discussed this with your Dr., okay?!

I really hope this helps you and good luck at the Dr.'s office!

Thanks Teri... you are so awesome!!
Yes that looks like me, hmm, except my eyes are green and I'm not a man LOL. Just trying to keep up my "very dry" sense of humor. I took out the contacts right when I got home and put some visine in my eyes but it didn't help so I will find out tomorrow. I will update smile

Do you have any natural tears? If not rinse with cool water, or cool cloth on the eyes may help to relieve some of the discomfort!!

Let Me Know Tomorrow, Please?! smile

Well it is allergic conjunctivitis. My hubby is gloating LOL. Doc prescribed Livostin eye drops so I should be good in a day or two.
BTW Teri... the cool cloth on the eyes helped me tremendously with the burning. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow!  I'm glad your husband was quick on the uptake with that one!!  It could have proven to be more serious. sad I really am glad that you were able to get in and be seen so quickly and let's hope you heal quickly!!

Thanks for letting me know what happenend, I truly do appreciate that!

Big Hugs, Teri tongue
