A dry mouth can come from many things ranging from medications to diseases. It can happen more as we age, but anyone can have this happen.

It occurs sometimes with high blood pressure, allergies and even depression.

If you have this problem, check out the following site!

The nih link does not really tell you much about dry mouth except to see a doctor or dentist if you do. Dry mouth could come from taking medications such as blood pressure pills, I have heard diabetes can sometimes cause dry mouth and, acid reflux can also cause a dry mouth feeling. I guess allergies could also cause it, especially if taking allergy medications.

Hi and Welcome, Pete!! tongue

It's good to see you here!  When you get to the link you just have to maneuver around a bit on the site.  Sometimes it's nice to just start conversations so we can talk to an actual person that has it.

Yes, allergy medications can cause this - a lot of them are antihistamines which dry your mucus membranes along with everything else.  You can actually become dehydrated taking them.  So very much a consequence of allergies.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Hugs, Teri  tongue
