new diagnosis ugh

Came down with very low level emphysema. I am an "extremely allergic person". All the allergists said that I do not have emphysema. However in 2014 I had a bad asthma flare up and the PA gave me a lung exam and I showed to have a spot on my lung. She went ahead and got a cat scan on my lung area. This showed up to be a very low level emphysema.

I am wondering since the spot is gone and the lung is normal, possibly the emphysema has improved.

Reading up on it on the internet, emphysema only gets worse. Scary stuff.

Hope somebody has experience or knowledge of this stuff. Was diagnosed with allergic asthma in 1984 and I am 70 years old.

Oh, no, Joan. Just what you needed, one more thing. I'm your age and just got diagnosed with Meniere's, so I know how frustrating it gets.

Did the allergist see the lung scan? Sometimes the person reading the pictures gives a different diagnosis than the expert in the field. I'd believe the allergist's opinion over the radiologist or the PA.
