I need to ask a few things and give you a bit of back story. When I was a child I was mildly allergic to dogs, I'd itch and my eyes would drive me mad. My mum has severe asthma and pet allergies. Since being a kid dogs have never really bothered me, but they do occasionally and I get asthmatic symptoms. Which I was also diagnosed with as a child but I had it very mild. We got a dog 2 and a half years ago as it was hypoallergenic, now I know there's no dog that won't cause allergies. But this dog has never bothered me and only bothers my mum when he's not had a bath in over a week. 1 month and a half ago we got another puppy, she has flakey skin which I know won't be helping allergies due to the dander spreading. When we first got her my asthma was quite bad but after a week or so it was fine and I had it under control, cleaning the house once a week and also using a HEPA purifier. My mums asthma has never really been that bothered by her which is weird as she's quite sensitive. In the last 3 days I have struggled to breathe. 2 days ago my asthma was the worst I've been able to remember having it but the house was due a clean and once cleaned it's settled slightly. The last thing I want to do is give up my dogs so I need to learn to live with it. Whilst I couldn't breathe I didn't have my other allergic symptoms, no rashes or runny/itchy eyes. Part of me is not 100% sure it was just my asthma because I had pain in my chest, I was hot, I had an awful headache, since my asthma has calmed I've been coughing up green mucus, being hot in the covers but too cold out, weird taste in my throat, I've been very tired, had a rapid heartbeat, I've had no wheezing but just started getting a rattle in my chest alongside mucus, been coughing alot as well as chest tightness and aches. I never usually get some of these symptoms when my asthma kicks in. Although my inhalers did relieve the chest tightness. My coughing happens most when I take my dog for a walk, when I wake up and go to bed or stand up. My mums been feeling similar except she had a serious migraine, she's had asthma so long she said the way she feels isn't due to the dogs because it felt different and she can tell the difference, she's only had slight chest tightness. It hasnot made a difference whether my puppy has been in the room with me. I'm going to the doctors tomorrow and I'm going to talk to her and ask for some form of allergy relief anyways. Does anyone know whether maybe I've had a virus as well as my asthma flaring up? Is there any form of allergy/asthma relief that I could have that could help me living with my puppy? (I'm taking the blue and white/red inhalers) do allergy shots work and could I have them? Thank you for taking your time and reading. 😊

Your recent symptoms sound almost exactly what I had this past week. They've resolved now, so I put it down to allergies. I also suddenly became allergic to my TV room (ie the sitting room where we spend most of our time). I deep cleaned the room (after taking antihistamine) and gave the cat and the dog a bath and it seems to have resolved the problem. Maybe you need to clean twice a week?

It sounds like it could be problems from the second dog you have recently bought. I understand that dogs are like kids and the last thing you want to do is have to get rid of him. You could try Allergen drops, I have had some success with these with my perfume allergy, so I do believe in them..
