Hello
i was at work clearing a tree limb off the side of a road that had fallen. nothing abnormal about the day in the way of diet, cosmetics, or things of that nature. i believe the tree limb was from a box elder tree. total time spent at that site was maybe 20 minutes. i don't recall being bitten by any bugs but i guess i could have, it was a wooded area near a large lake. at any rate, almost immediatly upon leaving i noticed a small bump on the cleft of my bottom lip(think tiny blackhead in size) by the time i got back to our shop it had grown and swelled, not alot, but noticeable to my senses and also to my coworkers if i pointed it out to them. it looked like there was something in there so i tried to "pop" it, like a blackhead but nothing came out but i did feel a sliver type thing in there..stinger maybe? anyway, this made it worse, still not huge but noticably firmer, more numb and more pronounced swelling. i did not have anyother reactions anywhere else that i am aware of, it seemed to be issolated to only my lower lip.
i went to the urgent care and he gave me a prescription for prednisone and an epipen. he did not administer anything at the doctors office. the epipen is a safety net in case something more sever ever happens.
i have never had any allergies that i am aware of but by what i have described? would you think this came from a bug, or something environmental? do i need to throw away the clothes i was wearing so im not possibly cross conatminated again?
i have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for 20 plus years so things like this really bum me out, just one more thing i obsessivly worry about. any insight might help though thanks and sorry for the long read.

If the person at the urgent care didn't see anything there it must have been gone by that time. It's not likely to have been a tick because they don't normally attach there.

Maybe a sliver. The swelling could have been from your working on it.

I presume it's gone by now.
