Hi guys, I suffer from the Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria, otherwise know as the CIU. The condition started 4 years ago and I have been taking antihistamines for 2 years now. I've seen a LOT of dermatologists in the 2 years and tried several combinations of antihistamines including Olopatadine, Levocetirizine, Ebastine, Mizolastine, and Loratadine.
Olopatadine and Ebastine have effectiveness that last no more than 2 months. Some of the drugs don't work at all. Right now the doctors are just pairing the antihistamines together in ineffective combinations, and it doesn't seem like they have other advises for me....
Do you know any notable antihistamines that might be effective? Or should I just increase the dose of my current med (Olopatadine, 10mg per day) (the doctors think that I should try yet another different combination of antihistamines, but I'm skeptical...)?
And is CIU a result of weakened immune system? If so, will strengthening my immune system cure CIU?
