As I'm sure any allergy sufferer knows allergies are the gateway for multiple sinus infections each year. about two weeks ago ragweed really got to me and it turned into a massive sinus infection. My face is swollen and my cheekbones below my eyes feel like they are about to pop. But I'm experiencing something I've NEVER experienced before, and it is really freaking me out. My eyes are constantly watery, like beginning to cry watery. And I have a tickle in my nose, that will not go away. Now, full disclosure, I'm OCD...like not the cute kind, where you arrange things pretty, like, I obsess about things and can invent my own demise.lol So now I've convinced myself I have depression and for some reason my body is trying to cry. I don't want to cry, I've tried, I can't make myself cry.lol Anyway, has anyone with allergies and sinus issues ever had this symptom from a very bad sinus infection? It's like there are tears in my eyes constantly.

That's not unusual. The 'pipes' for the tear ducts run right through some sinuses. If those sinuses are inflamed/infected, they can alter function of the tear ducts. Also, allergies themselves can lead to increased tear production & watery eyes.

My eyes water, too. I get lots of "tears" when I use a nasal flush and squeeze the bottle just a little too hard. The flush mix squirts out the other nostril, out my tear ducts, and into my mouth via the back of my throat.
I'm sure a few of the lessons from kindergarten and first grade are flushed out as well. smile

I have lost my sense of smell due to numerous sneezing bouts and sinus infections. My eyes right now are burning but I have had tearing non-stop of the eyes in the past. Over the counter antihistamine might help. I took one for two or three days because I have had the itching problem. I had eczema once and that was no fun.

I need to use my saline solution everyday .

My eyes are plugged with crust and use dry eyes drops twice a day.

Tearing is common with me.
