I am allergic to certain types of hair dye. Well, I dyed my hair a week ago and behind my right ear its still sore and broken out. Everything else has cleared up on it's own. I'm just wondering what I could put on it. I've, just in the past few days, been putting betadine on it to stop the itching. Is there anything else other than peroxide, betadine, bactine, and neosporin? I'm deperate. lol

Beforehand thanks for your help!

Hi Asia, welcome to the forum. Have you tried benadryl? Maybe it's time to see your Dr. to be sure it is from the hair dye since the rest of it has cleared up. Or maybe your Dr. can give you a topical cortisone. Best of luck & I hope you get relief soon. later....

Hi there and welcome to Healingwell. My scalp is real sensitive to hair dyes too and even though I break out, I still dye my hair (I refuse to go gray!) Benedryl is a good idea and you can also try triple antibiotic cream with itch relief such as Bactrim. Neopsorin is good but can sometime irritate it more. I personally am allergic to Neosporin. If it doesn't seem to be getting better then definately contact a doctor.

Thanks for the help! I couldn't take it any longer so I went to see a doctor, and it was actually infected, because not only did I have the allergic reaction, but I kept my hair over my ear to hide it which made it worse. But after a few days it's all cleared up! Next time I'll know what not to do.
