HELP - ANT BITES BAD.

Hey anyone,
I'm severely allergic to ant bites and one will flare, swell big, burn, pimple up, ooze liquid, itch like crazy and goes through my whole blood stream until I feel whatever they put in ya, over my whole body and some of the localized junk lasts for three months.

Today I stood in an ant hill unawares and got at minumum of 10 bites.

I don't get the inability to breath, but I'm shaking pretty bad and I just took a second dose of 50 mg. benadryl, besides my anti-anxiety sleep meds plus Lopressor for my heart.

This doesn't feel like anxiety at all ... but I'm just shaking and heart is taching and of course the ant bites are doing all I mentioned in the top line here.

As I wait for my Dr. to get in the office ... could anybody tell me what else I can do besides the benadryl ?

My Dr. told me, that each time I get bit, the allergic reaction will get worse.

I'm scared that he was right ... but he meant "one" bite and this is at least 10.

Last year when I got the one bite, I had to sleep with an ice pack on it just to get some sleep and it lasted, as I already said, 3 months.

Would appreciate any of you allergy people's opinions or advice.

Second question ... Is it true that these things get worse if you scratch them ?

Hon, call that doctor NOW. Maybe he can prescribe something stronger than benadryl. My kid is allergic to fish and they gave him a steroid injection to end the hives quick.

Thank you friend for posting to me.
I finally went to the Dr. yesterday (Tues) because I didn't want to go, but apparently my husband called them and the Nurse called and said to come in.
He gave me 40 mg. Prednisone tablets and Aristicort-A Ointment, but I still had to take the Benadryl after a few hours, because the Prednisone and Ointment alone was not enough.
We found out they were fire ants this time ... but it doesn't matter what type bite me ... it's still the same reaction.
It was one ant bite that triggered the recurrence of Lyme and CFS back in 2002 and made me homebound, so that was why I was a bit concerned with having over 10 bites. But I think it won't be all that bad this time, because of the Prednisone. In 2002, I got the Flu that wouldn't go away. I'm not any "Flu-y-er" so that's a good sign. The palms of my hands are burning to and parts of my back, even though the bites are on my calf and foot, but I'm determined to over-ride this, cuz I have a neat concert to attend with friends Thursday nite, that I don't plan on missing fer anyt'ing.
