   hi everyone,

hi im Renee and i have severe asthma and when i had my beautiful son named Brian my asthma was totally under control.  We then found out that Brian had moderate asthma.  Since then my asthma has gotten really out of control.  Just yesterday i was in the emergency room because i stopped breathing and Brian had to see me go thro that.  I hated to see him with that look on him face watching me.  well i guess i should get to the questions.  OK well when i was younger my asthma was only mild then as i got older it got much worse.  I was wondering if the same thing was going to happen to my son.  I was also wondering if anyone else had any experiences like mine.  Right now Brian is taking him nebulizer and i am also on a nebulizer because i just had a pretty severe asthma attack and that made him have an asthma attack.  That is one thing that i am really worried about.  When i have asthma attacks it makes Brian either sad, worried, nervous, or scared and those emotions make him have asthma attacks.  I was just wondering if anyone could help me.

thanks everyone and good luck to all of you!! :-)

Hi Renee, it sure can be scary for a child to see his mother going thru something like that. How old is he? Does he understand what asthma is? If he is old enough to read, I suggest you find a website that is specifically made for children so he can understand more of what happens. I think that if he knew more, the less afraid he would be for himself and for you.

i just wanted to add for you, that althoe in some kids theyre asthma gets worse with age, for me, my asthma went away when i was about 8 or 9. my doctor mentioned to my mom that sometimes a flu shot will take it away and it did!
i recently ( at the age of 19) got my asthma back, but its not all that sever, it was way worse when i was a child,
stay optomistic :)
