Hi everyone!!I've had an itchy dry patch on top of my knuckles for almost 3 years now on and off. It sometimes looks like small red dots and then it becomes this dry itchy patch. I am an hemophiliac type A, but I am not on any medication. I've tried eliminating everything, from bread, milk, eggs, etc. to everything that I put on - hand, face and body creams, parfums, make-up, etc.

Does anybody have a similar rash??It is very resistant to treatment and believe me I've tried everything!!!

Hmmm, almost sounds like eczema. I had it very severe on my stomach in one patch. After I got allergy testing done and avoided everything I'm allergic too the rash totally dissapeared! I also heard that vasoline is very soothing on it.  There are some really helpful websites out there. If you need any of the addresses let me know. :)

Hi yuyi, welcome to Healingwell! It sounds to me like firemt said, eczema or a possible fungal/bacterial infection of the skin. I used to get red dotted itchy patches on the back of my hands and the doc prescribed me a cream to use and it did wonders. Have you ever been to the docs for it? Have your tried any OTC creams to combat the itchiness such as Aveeno or Benedryl?

Some advice with the benadryl creams and other OTC creams... DON'T put them on open sores, or even raw! IT BURNS!!!! ... I tired it a couple times even on the eczema that wasn't to bad and it still burns and got super itchy.

All the luck!

Right you are firemt! Any skin that is cracked, raw or bleeding should be examined by a doctor anyway because the risk of infection is higher. I found too that sometimes if you mix Vaseline in with some of the creams, it doesn't sting as bad. I have psoarisis on my scalp line and I used a clear OTC lotion to combat that. Sometimes I have to mix vaseline in with the lotion if I let it get out of hand because it gets red and super sore. It lowers the effectiveness of the cream but with continual use, it still works........at least for me anyway smile
