I have had exezema all of my life, but it seems that this summer has been the worst ever. I am constantly itchy... my face, my stomach, legs, arms, back... you name it, it itches... I don't know what to do... there's no rash until I start to scratch... I take benedryl and a cool shower every night to calm down, but as soon as the morning comes, so does the itching... I haven't been to a dermatologist in a few years, but without health insurance, I don't think that's an option right now. Does anyone know what might be causing this and what I can do to stop it or at least help it?

Rachel, maybe in addition to benedryl you can add an antihistiamine cream to your regimine? Benedryl has a spray and Aveeno has a whole line of creams, gels, sprays etc. What sort of soap are you using? If you are using a deodorant soap, try stopping that and use a gentle hypoallergenic soap. The same for your laundry detergent. Hopefully this will help and as soon as you are able, try to get into see the doc.
