Is Prednisone and Medrol packs the same thing? Because the medrol pack triggered my asthma and I was in the ER. Now, I have a sinus infection and my doctor wants me to use prednisone 20 mg for 3 days (with an Antibotic), However, I don't want to go to the ER ever again (It was an extremely bad experience). Any help with this is appreciated!!!

Hi and welcome to Healingwell :) I didn't know what Medrol was so I looked it up. Both pred and medrol are classified as steroids. Whether they have the same ingredients I'm not sure. It's best to check with your doctor again or maybe a pharmacist.

Thank you for your reply. My Doctor today did a CT Scan of my sinuses and found some blockage. So no prednisone and now I have to see an ENT. I was also put on an antibotic AugmentinXR. I'm really relived that I'll not have to do prednisone. Now, I've got to get these headaches (sinusitis) gone!!! scool
