Hi, I am usually on the lupus forum, but I am having problems with my throat for the last year and neck for the last half year.  I was wondering if anyone had problems from using inhalers, that the powder caused throat problems?  I have asthma and was told I have COPD, which the pulmonary doc and none of the rest seem to care to find out why.  But I have this feeling of a lump in my throat all the time, trouble with my throat wanting to do the swollow function.  I have a raspy hoarse voice at times. And my glands feeel swollen most all the time.  And now I have a cough.  Neve smoked in my life and was not around someone who smoked in the house at all. I do have some allergies, but the allergist doesn't seem to feel this is a problem.  However, I have not found a doctor who will walk the mile with me to try to find out what is going on. Even the rheumetologist is dragging her feet since April.

If you have any input I would welcome it.  I am also going to search for a new pulmonary doc.  although there are only two practices in our area.  Just frustrating.

Sorry, you've been through so much. You have my empathy.
Have you tried warm salt water gragles. Have you tried saline nasal sprays.
Dose drinking warm liquids help (Teas or Cocoas ect..)?
Have you seen an Asthma/Allergy Doctor?
Good luck to you.
Keep us posted

Chartreux I have been to an allergy asthma doc.  I have used saline nose sprays, I even have a water pic machine with a nasal device on it.  I have even had antibiotics for it years ago between when I had my surgeries. I have used  organic salt so to speak.  I have used grapefruit seed extract spray. I have used nasonex. flonase. I have been on decongestants. I have backed off all meds in the last five years only because I read that antibiotics can cause autoimmune diseases. My husband and I feel strongly that the antibiotics mess my system up that bad, it doesn't know what is foreign or not.  Back when it was close to going on the IV antibiotics, I was getting sick  on the antibiotic pills I was taking.  Meaning I felt like I had the flu all the time when I took them.  So I can only imagine what the IV stuff would have done.  I am wondering if there is a build up of yeast causing all fo this.  I tried detoxing my body and I got so sick which it was the toxins coming out with what I read about that.  I felt better for a while and did not have problems with my sinuses for quite some time. I do not have the yellow drainage i used to, but have pain in my sinuses most all the time. So I know there is something going on in there.

I may set up an appt. with the doc at hershey.  I have to do something, I can't go on like this.  It's just not the sinuses and the lungs, it's the muscle weakness and fatigue.

   thanks again.

Have you been evaluated for GERD? It can cause these same symptoms when acid gets into your upper airways. It can happen without heartburn.
