Hi all,

When I eat any products made from wheat, I get terrible stomach aches, nausea and IBS symptoms. I don't have a problem with the glutens. Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks.

Have you been tested for Celiac disease? Gluten is in wheat products and if you're sensitive to them it can cause the discomfort that you are having. You can go to the doctor and explain what happens and have him/her test you.

Yes, I have a wheat/gluten intolerance.  I don't have celiac that any scopes have shown or bloodwork that has shown that I have celiac, but tests that I have done have shown wheat and gluten intolerance.

I get severe cramps, diarreah, abdominal pain whenever I eat anything that contains wheat/gluten - that would include - Wheat, spelt, kamut, barley, rye breads - anything that contains wheat.

I am not sure what you mean that you don't have a problem with the glutens?  Were you tested?  If you were not tested ask to be.  Also try eliminating any form of wheat for a week or 2 - if you must eat grains or pasta use rice, quinoa, etc.  There are many forms of Gluten-free products available at any Heathfood store and even grocery stores

My daughter has been tested numerous times by the allergist doing skin pricks for an allergy to wheat - the tests have all come back negative, but the elimination diet we did we could see that she is allergic to wheat - it causes severe flares of eczema and hives anytime she eats wheat.

I have recently been diagnosed with a wheat allergy.  Amazingly after removing wheat and several other food allergens, my stomach feels much better.  I also found a reduction in the number of migraines I encounter.  I can't say that my Fibro pain has been reduced, but the long term benefits of eliminating these problem foods is a more tolerable stomach.
