hi, i'm hoping someone can help me.

i was on a sulfa type antibiotic and a PPI (acid reducer) about 2 months ago.  2 weeks after going off the meds, i got a whole body rash/uticaria.  it lasted for about 2 weeks and went away.  however since then, i've been getting these red spots on my face...i would call them acne except they're not sore and they don't seem 'pimple like'. they last for about a week.  they are less visible in the morning however they get redder and slightly itchy in the evening.

at the same time, i've also suffered frequent bouts of urticaria.  i'm unable to pinpoint the cause...they seem to just come on and off for no apparent reason.

i've been taking clarinex(aerius) and that's helped with the urticaria on my body.  however, the 'spots' on my face does not seem to have improved.  does anyone know whether these spots are allergies?

Hi Meryl,
I use to get hives on my face almost daily. Just a read itchy spot on my face that would appear and go away over a period of about 3 hours. I have since seen an allergist because of other more annoying symptoms. (We had mold in our house and our whole family got ill from that) I am currently having allergy shots twice a week, I take chemical drops and histamine drops before my allergy shot. The histamine drops seem to be helping my face alot. I also use allegra 180 to help with my headaches believe it or not and had relief there. I hope the information helps. My allergist is an environmental specialist and deals with all sorts of issues. He has been a god send.
Sincerely,
HolisticRN
