Hi Frank, welcome to Healingwell! No need to feel awkward here :) We are a great group of people. It could be allergies. The coughing you are experiencing can be from post nasal drip which aggravates the throat. You have no other symptoms then the runny nose and coughing? You sure you're not coming down with a cold? You can try over the counter decongestants to see if it helps dry you up a bit. Are you taking any medication for your IBS? Sometimes too, medications can cause a runny nose. If it gets bothersome and/or you start getting a sore throat, you may want to go see a doctor to be sure it's just allergies and maybe they can give you something a little stronger if the otc allergy meds aren't working.
