Hello mbg, nice to meet you, hope you find the infomation you need. Okay did you have a specific question on the skin testing yourself or were you looking thru old files on skin testing here? Could be 12/24(date) was the last posting on that. I've had the skin testing done and I'm allergic to Dogs, dust, certain molds like plant mold and a northern mold and I live in the south. If you have a question, I'm pretty positive someone might be able to help you. No question is to big or small we take them all (just a joke). Hope this helped. look forward to hearing from you. Take care and soft hugz.........

No- it is not the date- it is how the reaction site is measured- 12mm/24mm(millimeters)-, I know the first number is the size, but if you have a 6/0, how does that work?  I was told breifly, but wasn't paying too much attention I guess.  This is for both the skin prick and the intradermal.  If any of you have had the tests, you should have been told/shown how allergic to each allergen you were tested for.

I wasn't really paying attention to the numbers when I had my testing done, but I did have a bad reaction for the dogs it was so red and huge I almost had to take some benadryl right there in the doctors office. If you really want to know what those numbers ment ask your allergist next time to explain it to you as you forgot. Maybe someone will come by to explain better, don't know. On www.medhelp.com there is a allergy forum, where either a nurse or doctor will answer a question for you, but you have to sign in and wait to get a password. You might want to ask this question over there. What where you allergic to and are you not sure? If your not sure your allergic with the skin testing you can always go and get the blood testing or RAST....Good luck to you..........

The RAST test is extremely helpful in the event you should have any food allergies.  I had the skin test done several times over the years before I had the RAST test and had no idea I also had food allergies.  It really helps to find out if you have food allergies.

Good luck!
