hey guys,

I'm a soon to be dad for the first time & I am worried sick! I've been having low grade fever for over 3 years!! I wake up everyday with fever in the morning & for most of the day its the same.

I've tested myself for HIV a few months after this started which was negative.

My general medical history shows that I have a very weak immune system, I had been admitted in hospital twice for high fever, on one occassion traces of blood was found in my urine sample.

I just need to know if i have a infection or allergy. I do know that I sneez for most of the day if there is exsesive dust around me. I also showed signes of hay fever in last few weeks, I took Zyrtec which gave me temporary relief.

I've been to several doctors in these 3 years with no answers from them.

I must add I do have severe IBS, can this cause fevers??

I hope i can get some answers here, thanks.

Yes, allergies can cause fevers. I get fevers from certain things I'm allergic to. Have IBD, Lupus, and other chronic inflammatory disorders been ruled out (chronic low-grade fever is a common symptom in most of these conditions)?

Good luck,

I went back to the doctor today & mentioned the constant fever. he has given me Salazopyrin tablets to take 3 times a day for a month. I'm on day 2 at the moment & my fever has actually increased to 40.7. I just hope this is not a side effect, anyone been on this medication before?

Jadoo,

Welcome to HealingWell.  I am a long time allergy patient and have had severe asthma for over five years.  I rarely have a fever unless I have an infection.  It definitely sounds like you need a good work-up to find out what is going on with you.  Please keep us posted.

Take care!

Carla

Are you sure the IBD isn't chrone's which is autoimune. All of the autoimmune disorders can cause chronic intermittent fevers.
