Have you looked into a condition called Hyperacusis?
Sinus allergies can irritate the inner ear and distort how sound is perceived - I have some first hand experience with this.
Also, might look into Lyme Disease - it can cause hypersensitivity to sounds. Make sure to see a Lyme-Literate doctor for testing, since most non-Lyme-Literate MD's aren't familiar with the shortcommings of the tests.
