Hi all, I am a regular on the Crohn's Disease forum but new to this one! I have been put on all different anxiety meds and the doctor just put me on 100mg of Seroquel a day. Just wondering who has been on it or is on it and how you feel about this medicine. I never heard of it before and when I look it up it doesn't say anything about the anxiety relief part, it just says it is an anti-psychotic.
Any feedback would be totally appreciated!

Hello Hope,

This is Kitt.  Seroquel is being prescribed off-label at low dose to treat anxiety disorders and to help with insomnia. This drug has been very helpful for many people using it for anxiety.

Please remember everyone is different and what works for one may not another.  I wish you good luck with this drug.

Kitt

I'm actually one of those people that got more anxiety from seroquel so can't use it.

The zombie effect depends on what else you've used.  A year ago 25mgs knocked me out for 14hrs when they retryed recently 100mgs didn't effect me. If you're used to heavy meds it shouldn't bother you....zyprexia is more sedating.

Good luck I hope it works for you.

It is an older med ........I wish you all the best ..........remember IF it does not help you as the patient have to tell the doc ......they are not infallible ..........

I have CD as well and I take Valium for my a/p as needed...........

Glad you popped over

Take care

Hi there,   I haven't tried Seroquel so I can't offer any advice on that one.  But if you feel it's not working for you and feeling like a zombie, you really need to tell your doc.  This is the only way the doc will know there is a problem.  Remember, you have to be proactive and your own advocate in your care.  Like Lyn, I'm taking Valium for my a/p and most of the time it works okay for me.   I hope you get some relief soon and keep posting here to let us know how you're doing.   Wen Co-Moderator Anxiety/Panic Disorders   Evey little bit helps, please donate if you can!  https://www.healingwell.com/donate/   Dx: Agoraphobia, Anxiety/Panic Disorders, Barrett's Esophagus, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Fibromyalgia, I.B.S., Mitral Valve Prolapse, Narcolepsy, PTSD, Restless Leg Syndrome, Severe Acid Reflux, Sleep Apnea, Social Anxiety Rx: Abilify, Ambien CR, Ativan , Flexeril, Lamictal, Neurontin, Nexium, Requip, Ritalin ER, Valium   “People have two ears and one mouth for a reason; you need to listen twice as much as you talk.”   Top Fuel pro Bob Vandergriff, Jr.

Thank you so much for your replies. The Seroquel has helped me so much, I am feeling a lot better about life and not so in the dumps. My anxiety hasn't been overwhelming since I started and I am so grateful. Thanks again

Good evening, yes I was on Seroquil as well but it gave me massive weight gain, did not help my depression/etc and wasn't really helping. I was on 400mg of it now I'm on 300mg since my shrink is weening me off of it.
