I have UC - was having panic attacks about leaving the house - did not want to have an accident out in public, well UC has gotten more under control after surgery on my thyroid (?spelling)first of Nov anyway so we tapered down then it got to were I would take one mg every other day.

Well after the Christmas holiday and my daughters schedule the ice storm no power, I have worked my self into a tissy - now I think that it is me not my UC that is causing the tummy problems.

me and the GI doc dont agree that the surgery helped my UC, but then he also cant explain why my very high liver enzymes dropped.

so my doc I see about the anxiety - I called and she had the nurse return my call and told me to go back to the full dose 3 mg per day

here is the question in all of this - how long will that take to start working again..

oh yes and we are also going out of state for a cheer comp. I dont like going - much less strange places I dont know were the rest room is

but when I was tapering down before I was going all kinds of places

sorry I just want to know how long before I will get back to more normal --- please help

Sorry to hear you have been through so much. I'd follow Drsd. advice and try not to taper now, wait until you feel stronger. Not telling you what to do - just what I'd do.
I also have a thyroid defieincy & take synthroid. it took months to bet that under control. Thyroid levels mut be normal before you attempt tapering again. A low thyroid can cause all the symptoms you are describing. Don't be hard on yourself now - I support you!

it was after the Thyroid that everything started to get better
WAY better. It has just been in the last couple of weeks, I am also feeling very down the last couple of days - I think that it is ttotm for me.

I had tappered down with her okay - I mean everything was going so great!

How long does it take for the xanax xr to start to kick back in, any ideas?

Xanax XR is a time released benzodiazepine. If you are taking 3mgs of the time released medication once a day you should notice relief of your anxiety very quickly, within 24-48 hours if not sooner.

I think you will be fine, IMHO, for your trip. Go and have fun.
Gentle Hugs.

Yes, but it is long acting so I am not sure of it equivalency compared to regular Xanax. 3 mg Reg Xanax = 60 mg Valium. I would ask my pharmacist or physician.
