HI ya'll !
I am feeling really bad. My little girl had strep and wasnt getting better and I was feeling bad too. So off to the doc we went.
He said we both had strep and the flu. I hurt all over! I was up all last night with my little girl being sick and having a fever.
Now for the anxiety part. I seem to have noticed my heart is pounding a little fast and harder and then ever now and then I get the real  hard thump! you know what I mean. My sis thinks it is do to being sick and my anxiety about being sick.
Im just laying here and all i can feel is how much my body hurts and how hard my heart is pounding along with coughing.
SO I guess my question is do you notice your heart pounding more when your sick?
Oh yeah and the roads around here are froze over with ice so Im kinda upset about that to, Like what if i need a doc and roads are to slippery to get there.
Thank you!!!

Hi crying! I hate to hear that you guys are ill,i hope you all get better soon! I've had the flu before, uhhhh! To answer your question,i cant speak for anyone else but when i'm ill my P/A symtoms do seem to get worse for some reason.Maybe being sick adds to your already existing stress'i mean no one likes to be sick! I also have heart palps from time to time but i dont think being sick makes them any worse though! Oh,and dont worry about getting ill and no one not being able to get to you as far as ambulances or anything because believe me they will find some way to get you even if they have to bring a helicopter!(smile) Feel better soon honey!!!

I find tht being ill makes anxiety symptoms alot worse and you notice heart palps alot more esp if ur ear, nose throat are inflamed cause blood vessels get constricted. Let us know how it goes im sure in acouple of days u'l be much better

I notice when I'm not feeling well my heart does speed up.
I'm sure that is the reason.
Get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.
Hope you and your little girl gets better real fast!

Hey crying,
I do not do sick well at all so my anxiety goes off the charts. I have to fight the panic attacks over being physically ill as I start with the stinkin thinkin that I will never get better. IMHO you are normal.........I have a pretty good idea people without an anxiety disorder don't do sick well either.
Hope your soon feeling much better.
Hugs to you and your little girl

I've had a bad cold for almost two weeks now. about a week ago, it developed into bronchitis. My ears have been clogged for almost a week. I am congested, exhausted, and mentally worn out. Last night I started sort of a wheezing cough and almost had a panic attack.

I DEFINITELY think my PA symptoms are worse when I am sick. I have much less energy to fight my anxiety and I have more time on my hands to notice every little ache and pain I have. When I am working sick, I get so tired. Today I stayed home, but I think I am mentally worse because I have too much time on my hands.

I was glad to read this thread. It made me feel better.

Thank you all for your posts!!!! I have been in bed since tuesday and I am just now starting to feel alittle better. My little girl bounced back fast as I think most kids seem to do. I did find my anxiety seems to be worse when I am sick.
Now I am feeling a little better but Im very very weak! So of course I was worried about all the reasons why I would be so weak, cause of course it couldnt be the simple anwser that I have just been very sick and in bed for 4 days, lol figures huh?

I also feel that i have more time to think about everylittle pain or heart beat or twitch in my body when im laying sick in bed so that does not help at all.
I think i need to keep my mind busy but thats hard to do when your sick in bed.

I want to thank you all for the post, its always soo soo nice to know your not alone and other understand what your going thru.

Thank you!!
