How do you know when to take time off?

I have been feeling increasingly stressed at work, though unrelated to any work issue in particular.  I took two weeks off at Christmas and really haven't been working that hard.  Today, a minor stressor sent me realing.  How do you know if you should take time off or stay on that horse?
P.S. I've been feeling pretty depressed and anxious in general (home and work) confused

Hi Kimber,
Watch out for possible burn out.If you feel stressed, take a day or 2 off and just relax .See if that helps .Keep me posted.

If you are feling very stress I would consider taking sometime off and working out the causes of you stress.  I hope this is something you can do.

Thanks Katy and Kitt. I've decided to take a couple of days off and book myself in for a massage. I guess I was just looking for a little reassurance that I was doing the right thing.
