Is it normal to reject the diagnosis you are given? Post traumactic stress polar. That just doesn't sound like me.I take their stupid medicine and I feel like I have always wanted to feel...Free.Happy.Content.Even.Normal.Nice. Then I get mad because their is nothing wrong with me I don't need to poison  my body and mind with this crap, so no more meds for me. I'm good...then the bottom falls out. Back to drug induced normalcy. I'm sorry but I am feeling angry and sad right now. I saw the movie Elizabeth the golden age and I wish I could be like her, facing the enemy on the battle field in shining armour and a strong horse.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  I am so glad you found us. Many people do not want to accept their dx and it is not uncommon for people with a Bi-polar disorder to quit taking their meds when they feel better as they rationalize they don't need them  Thus the circle you appear to be in.

Have you considered a second opinion from another Pdoc if you are concerned about the accuracy of your dx?  It never hurts to seek out another opinion.

We also have forums on depression and bipolar if you want to browse through them you may find some comfort from the members posts.

Again a warm welcome and please stay with us.

I have seen 3 pdocs since july. All the same thing bipolar and post truamatic stress disorder. I am not depressed. I do suffer from huge amounts of panic though. That is what bothers me, worse than my "bipolar". I did post in the bi polar forum though.

I am also in severe denile about my dx of PTSD...but when I think back I do see the truth to it. Anxiety is all tied up into one big shakey, sweaty, sleepless ball. I also have some OCD, I think these disorders overlap quite a bit.
