Dear pandora1975
Welcome to HealingWell and the A & P Forum. I am wondering if your having some anticipatory anxiety worrying about how things are going to go wrong when you go out.
May I suggest that you just do not plan on drinking any alcoholic beverages and stick to soda, water or even a virgin frozen drink. No alcohol worries may drop your anxiety to pratcially nil. No worries about upset stomach.
Please do not let your peers talk you into alcohol if you feel it is causing you problems.
Take care and keep posting.  We are delighted to have you here.

Pandora,i dont know what meds you are taking but sometimes drinking alcohol with certain meds make you feel ill.I use to take Paxil many years ago when my P/A started and i noticed when ever i drank my P/A would increase and after a while i would feel terribly ill! Also alcohol is a depressant,so if you already suffer from some kind of mood disorder it could make you feel worse. You may need to give up on the alcohol for a while, that's what i did. I found that i could still have a good time without it!

Hi Pandora,

Welcome to the Healing Well family, you have come to a great site and you will find that the members here are very helpful and supportive.  We are very happy that you have found us!!

I agree with what Kitt and Panike have already told you - you may need to give up the alcoholic beverages.  As was already said, many medications do not mix well with alcohol and that may be the root of the problem.  Because I'm on so many meds now, I have had to give up alcohol completely.  The only time I really miss it is on a hot summer day when I'm working in my flower gardens; that's when I really want an ice cold beer - LOL.

When you do go out with your friends, do what's best for you and have something other than alcohol to drink.  As Panike said, you can still have just as much fun without alcohol - and you know you won't get sick!

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing; we truly want to know.

Take care,

I totally stopped drinking since I have been taking medication for anxiety. The first few times I drank while on meds I got very sick, had tremors etc. Also, alcohol makes one feel "weird" in general, not good for someone with anxiety and panic attacks :) I recommend nix the alcohol, I know it's socially hard, but I realized I have just as much fun without it and no hangover or nausea the next day! Just tell people its because you have to drive or something.
