I have been in this cycle of anxiety and depression for about 3 weeks .. I usually if anything eat mindlessly.  now I have no desire for food.  i made myself eat dinner last night after not eating and today I have no desire to eat.  I know i need to eat but I look at the food and just have no disire.  I have had eating disorders inthe past but I don't think it is that .  I am so tired from the lack of sleep --now not wanting food.  My bosy is just not doing well    I am going to see a dr--to see if this is a physical problem or mental.  I hope an answer comes soon .  I have a job and family I have to take care of and it is getting harder when I feel so bad.

I am so glad you are going to see a physician as you need to have a good medical check up to be sure nothing else is going on.  High calorie supplemental drinks would help if you can even just sip on them or be sure to drink Gatoraid or one of the power drinks with electrolytes in them.

I do not want you to get dehydrated.

Hugs to you.

When my anxiety is in high gear I always suffer badly with gastric issues. I get diarhea, nausea, and NO DESIRE for food at all. I also have Crohns Disease (an inflammatory bowel disease) so that doesn't help at all. But my most frequent problems are from anxiety and I have the same issues. Do you take any kinds of meds for your anxiety and depression? I take Xanax at the first inkling of anxiety coming and many times I can stop it in its tracks, but other times I am not so lucky. You might talk to your doc and see if he can give you something for the anxiety and maybe something for the nausea. Zofran is a great med that stops nausea, but doesn't cause drowsiness like alot of nausea meds can. Also, very important to try to get a good nights sleep. I know if I don't sleep well I am generally pretty sick the next day. I sure hope you can get in to see the doc and see if he can't prescribe something to help you thru this anxiety/depression. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hey there,

I know when I am severly anxious I get out of routine and then I get messed up in the head and eating goes right out the window. As Kitt suggested, do try and at least drink something to keep your electrolyte balance even. You will feel even worse if you don't stay hydrated. I hope that your doctor can give you some answers. Try and eat if you can, get plenty of rest and get gentle with yourself. Mum comes first, no matter what. I will be thinking of you, please let us know what your doc says. Hugs

doesn't interest me as much. . . .  .   Like they say the mind is a powerful thing and we all
know that food fuels us so usually I think of the delicious taste and yummy in the tummy
food can be and it helps for me
