about an hour ago I had just got some clothes out of the dryer and put them on the couch to fold. All of the sudden while sitting in the couch I got this blurry vision and a warm feeling that started in my chest and went up to my head. I got down in the floor because the room was spinning and I thought I was going to pass out. I could feel my heart beating really fast in my chest. My husband got a wet rag and put it on my forehead and after about 10 minutes I finally calmed down. Would this be a panic attack? I am taking .25mg of Xanax in the morning and then in the afternoon. Please help! After whatever it is I am just really dizzy, but I have been dizzy for about 2 weeks straight now.

Hello Andrea

Anxiety and panic can do alot of scary things to you....from what you described what happened to you and from my past experiences it definitely sounds like a panic attack. How long have you been taking your medication? i am just wondering because i know that if you are taking too much xanax it can cause dizzy spells, how severe is your dizziness? If it is really bad and continues i would suggest making an appointment with your doctor to check up on your medication and to check to see if there might be anything else causing it, if it is not really bad my guess would be it is because of anxiety and panic, just some suggestions im not trying to take the place of your doctor but i definitely would get checked out if you dont get any better.... well i hope you feel better soon and hope to see you around!!!

Not a doctor but it sounds like a panic attack. We all experience different symptoms when suffering from a panic attack but nearly every1 experiences the racing and pounding heart. For me the tell tale sign that im actually having a panic attack rather than just getting worked up about something.

It does sound a lot like a panic attack, but it wouldn't hurt to check with your doctor since you're on medication. I'm very sorry that you're going through this.

I would really say to see your doc especially since one you have had this dizziness for a couple of weeks
2 you are on meds

It does sound a/p but I would want to know if it were
I what the dizziness is all about as well

Even though a/p can cause so many issues with us
it is always good to have things checked out thoughly IMHO

Hi Andrea,

That does sound suspiciously like an uncued panic attack. As Lyn mentioned, if you have been feeling dizzy for two weeks it may be something else..get it checked by a doc just to make sure. You don't need to be worrying about your health as well.

Next time it happens out of the blue it might be useful to write down how you were feeling before it started. This might be a clue as to why you are having the attacks. Please let us know how you go.
