I am doing okay after a bout of increased anxiety Sun and Monday. I took a 90 minute nap during my lunch break yesterday (I sleep on the floor with pillow and blanket. Uncle Sam owes me alot of comp time so it's no problem to take a longer lunch).
Since I became so ill with anxiety this spring and returned to work, I've simplified my life in the following ways (and looking for more ways):
-I wear only slacks to work. (Before I wore slacks, skirts, skirt suits and dresses)
-I wear only black slacks most of the time. (Still have a few brown and gray that I won't get rid of)
-I wear nice jackets or tunics that match the black pants.
-Thus I buy only black slacks, jackets and tunics that match black pants.
-I shop only at Burlington's and Avenue (on line). No going to Penneys or Sears "just to look around" (and usually buying something I don't need). No Gordman's. Sometimes I will pick up a t-shirt or jeans at Walmart.
-I am learning to slow down my shopping - which is easier to do since I can only buy these items, not dresses, skirt suits, etc.
-Since I don't wear these things any longer, as I come across them I put them in the donate bag.
-I found a pair of black shoes that do not hurt my feet and bought three pair. I wear the same shoes everyday. Since I do have some brown slacks that I wear occasionally, I am still searching for one pair of brown shoes that do not hurt my feet.
-Since I used to have anxiety about what I was going to wear to work, I think these steps have helped with that anxiety. Also, I have hoarding tendencies so my new clothes and shoe rules are helping with that.
- Oh, forgot I am going to only one kind of perfume. Getting rid of the rest, again helping clear out my hoarding "stuff". No decisions to be made daily about what perfume to wear.
