Hi I have been suffering with this feeling for about 10 months. I"ll give the history as quick as I can, I was on xanax from June 2007 till June 2008. In the end of Jan 2008 i started feeling dizzy, off balance, I didn't have vertigo (spinning) i just felt every movement I made, example, walking down the stairs, after i was down them my body felt like I was still moving. Walking felt like I was walking on cotton. For about 3 months i felt I was being pulled to the left. If i turned my head while I was walking, omg it felt real weird. Ok . In may 2008 i started to wean off of xanax and did VRT therapy (vestibular therapy) by Jun 2008 I was done xanax and feeling alot better. so good that I had days when I didn't feel weird at all. Oh yea I couldn't go into stores or be around bright lights while this was going on. ok, I noticed since I do have some bad days my anxiety goes throuhg the roof. I worry it will come back. Also I feel it at the oddest times, could be right in the middle of something,(totaly focus) and bam here it comes. I had every test done. my brain doesn't have any tumors, my heart is good and I don't take any meds at all. except advil. I am very sensative to everything I can feel when my pant leg is wrinkled on my leg, if my sinuss are stuffed my head feels awful, I seem to make these things worse.  And I am aware of this. But darn this dizzy happened to me for a reason 10 months ago, now whats my reason? I really would like to know if anyone has had this happen? I can't chalk it all up to anxiety. Could xanax be my problem even though I've been off of it since june. I read pretty bad stories about benzos and there side effects, I am soo depressed, thinking I'm gonna be like this forever.hollygirl

Hey Hollygirl :)

I have those feelings too during extreme anxiety. It is like your senses are super sensitive and overloaded. I'm on the benzo's too and they do help with this, but you also need to start meditating/relaxation exercises two or three times a day, physical exercise such as walking (contact your doc first) and then you could try CBT "therapy". We have links all over the place for a free place to receive CBT online called MoodGYM. You can find it under the Anxiety and Panic Resources thread at the top of this forum.

Good luck to you. You will get better :) The hardest step is to admit you have a problem and seek help for it, so congratulations!!!

Much Love, Hugs, Peace and Comfort!!!

Hey Holly, i sympathise with MANY of those feelings and symptoms. i guess they are part of the whole AP/med package- i try not to think about it too much, but yeah, it can be really unsettling. Have you spoken to your physician about these symptoms? make a list- journal them and write them down, and then adress each of your concerns with your doctor-

keep us posted, stay strong,
