Yay... I took it this time... 5MG of Lexapro... First two days I had very little nausea, however tonight I feel anxiety. I don't know if it's caused by the medications or it's just me. The Lexapro normally comes in 10MG but I asked my doctor I can start 5MG and then move up and she said it was fine. So it is a very very very low dose. I just want to let everyone know I finally started it this was my 3rd try on the same medications :)
Anyways, my questions is how long does it take until you stop feeling side effects?
And I want know the other people's opinion on what they think it is... Is it my mind or is it a side effect? I know you guys can answer it but just opinions would be great and make me feel better.

Shia, whooooo hooooooooooo............good for you.  Yes I believe you could be feeling a little anxious from the med so hold on and tough it through if you can.

All the AD's may do that to get on them.  I am very proud of you.  You deserve a standing ovation.  It took courage to get past your fears.

Hugs to you my friend

Hi Shia,

Sounds like you are doing fabulously..how smart to start on a low dose and work up..that means milder side effects. I've not been on Lexapro, but know of many people who have had success with it. Congrats on getting started! Let us know how you go with everything okay? Here to listen my friend.

Congrats! I hope by starting out lower things will go smoother for you. I'm on Lexapro as well. I actually started on 5mg for one week as well, then moved up to 10 mg. I've done really well with it, no side effects. I'm still having anxiety, but I'm doing 100% better then I was. I suspect I'll be having anxiety until I'm on a higher dose. At least that's what my doctor believes, for my problems I will need a higher dose. Going up slow and steady seems to help!

Nice one Shia, you made a good choice starting on 5mg work your way up slowly. It is normal to feel a little anxious when starting a new medication but it should pass. I have not tried Lexapro but i to know people who have had great results with this medication. I hope this medication works well for you Shia and remember we are here if you need us.

All meds are different, but I believe their side effects can last for a few weeks. Plus, like Kitt mentioned, you may be anxious because you just started this medication. Hang in there! You will definitely feel better!

Shia, that's fantastic! Three doses: what an accomplishment! Keep up the great work.
I know for me Lexapro was the best of all the a/d's I tried. I was able to stay on the 5mg dose, but everybody is different. Just keep taking it a day at a time & we will all look forward to hearing about when you really start to feel better. smilewinkgrin
