so like many of you, i've had to ban myself from looking up symptoms online because i become convinced i have a terrible disease and am going to drop any minute. i've been really, really good about not looking things up and i'm finding that i've been having fewer full blown panic attacks.

well, today i was reading the news online at yahoo, and on the right hand side they had a picture of hugh downs with this links under them about various health issues. one of them said "the surprise symptom of a heart attack that most people don't know about! (you may not even feel any pain!)" or something to that effect. well, my heart health is one of those "hot button" health anxiety issues for me and so i thought "oh, i have to know what this is!" then i stopped myself and said no no-no more looking up symptoms! then i thought-but! this could be really important information! i better find out what this symptom is! and clicked on the link.

low and behold, it wasn't actually a list of symptoms at ALL-it was just a link to buy a book hugh downs has written about health tips! lol-i was fooled by one of those "buy our product!" links and didn't find out any new information about heart symptoms at all.

i took this to mean that God, in his infinite wisdom, is looking out for me and saying-no, no! no more looking up symptoms, danielle! nono

That's funny! I saw that on the internet, too, but didn't click on it. I was interested though and thought I would look at it later. Glad it wasn't something that scared you!

Over the years when I was so ill, I would look up all of the different things that could cause panic attacks. One day
I began looking up mental illness and the symtoms of
each one and I had some symtoms of all of them. Finally, I thought, well, I can't have all of these things :-) When I look back now, it's funny... but at the time it was very traumatic for me. I think it's because we are always searching for answers.

Bless you, dear one
