Hi there, Are you talking about a fear of death...Im not sure.  If u are then I have massive panic attacks and feelings of doom when I think about it myself. I have trained my brain not to even fathem the idea anymore as it would drive me completley insane.  Although I work in aged care and see it almost weekly, I can not associate it to myself or those I love. If the thoughs of dying come to mind I quickly push it away as fast as I can as I have learn't I do indeed have a genuine fear of the afterlife or worse still what I would be leaving behind...Im not sure if I have just made it worse or better for you, but my point is I understand what you are going through...Thats if I have understood you post correctly.   Take care and remove the thoughts....YOU are in control of your mind, not the other way around, remember that!   gillxx

I've had a fear of dying my self..its a scary thought. I went to councling when I was 15 because my best friend was murdred. You will get through this. No one can control death that's in gods hands. When your feeling that anxiety count to 10 in your head and breathe...it helps. We all will die someday we all have fears. Just live for the moment...and you'll be fine

Hey there, This is not a "healthy" obsession.  I really thing you would do well by finding a good therapist to help you.

Everyone at sometime or another has a fear of dying but when you start thinking of the what ifs? all the time you may need, IMHO, to see your Physician.

Keep us posted and(((((((((((Hugs))))))))))

When I have a fear of dying, I think of the worst things associated with it and it gets better. For example, when my heart skips beats and the thought of dying comes into mind, I remind myself that I believe in God. I remember heaven and how it is described in the Bible. This calms me down right away.

Also, when it comes to thinking about leaving your kids...kids are resilient. They can get through almost anything. I'm sure you have loved ones that would make sure your kids are fine. Worrying about leaving your kids only makes your life more frantic which affects your kid's lives.

You need to be on some sort of medication. I'm not a doctor, but it seems like you suffer often with scary thoughts. If you're not on an anti-depressant, I would speak to a therapist about going on one. You deserve a happy life without scary thoughts!

I also agree with all the great advice on here my friend. . . I'm sorry you are going through this and talking with a doc/therapist about these issues will be so helpful to your well being. You take care of yourself and try not to think about them "what ifs" because life is full of them and it is not beneficial to dwell on things we have no control over :)
