We've had others mention a phobia with swallowing or a loved one with this problem. It usually was from a choking episode that scared them so much, they had a phobia of it after. Is your swallowing phobia out of the blue? Or have you had a scary choking episode?
I agree with Kitt. You need therapy. The positive self talk you've been using will help. Relax while eating. Keep chewing your food and don't worry about
swallowing. The food will go down eventually. This is what I've read to do in an anxiety book. Also, in the book it mentioned difficulty in swallowing as a symptom of anxiety. Difficulty as in scared to do it.
