the best gifts of all, like when your child when their little bring a handmade gift it could even been a drawing or something they colored for you, the look in their little eyes how proud they are and hopeful you will love it. handmade things mean more to me than any gift bought from the store, because it came from their heart. i used to love working with little ones in kindergarten helping them make stuff they had so much fun, now my girls or 10, 12, 19 and i don't get those no more, but i do get homemade birthday cards from them, thats what i tell them to make it themselves it means more, i still have all the things they made and i will always hang on to them.

I have to make sure I save enough. My kids are 5 and 7 and they make me stuff everyday. Other than holiday decorations and cards, I'm not sure what to save. There's only so many drawings I can store :-). I'll have to remind myself that this will eventually end and I shouldn't take it for granted.

i dont have children, but i collect and save cards, notes and photos that my students have given me- even though its a really rough school, they like to show their appreciation and the little cards they make or notes they write me make me all warm and fuzzy. its a great feeling hey?
