Mom is right,
You shouldn't be afraid to take medications when you need them. I know that the side effects can be bothersome, but there are so many meds out there that you can go by trial and error until you find what is right for you.
Though I do hope that you can make it without them since that is what you prefer.
Do you know and breathing techniques? That often helps with anxiety and with panic. Practice that and meditation. And of course the cbt would help you like Mom said. I hope that you continue to feel well. This is such a hard thing to go through.
