Maz, Kitt,
You have been hijacked! You must spend the next 24 hours in seclusion with nothing but a massage therapist, a hot tub, a beauty therapist and a personal you go now!
Now my ransom for getting them back? Well...what is your favourite scar and how did you get it? I have a funny little pear shaped scar on my left shoulder which I acquired whilst trying (in vain) to prove to the cutest guy in my class that I could skateboard down a ramp. It still makes me giggle to think how I went ass over teakettle on that one!! Share your scars and your stories and laugh along

Well, I don't know about any "favorite" scars or anything of that nature because none of my scars were obtained in a "funny" manner.....but anyways, I have a huge scar on the top of my left arm from when I was low crawling under some barbed wire when I was in the service. I must have freaked out at some point and tried to get out of it and got a very nice gash on the top of my arm from it. I don't remember much of what happened really....I don't even know what I was thinking at the time. I just know that I wasn't in my right mind at the time if I thought trying to stand up at the time was the right thing to Everytime I look at it, I sit there and "laugh" because I just think to myself, "What in the world was I thinking?" Lol!!

Oh bless your spunky heart Meg, that is exactly what i need- how did you know? sounds like heaven! im hanging by a thread physically, but i dont want to complain in light of Nikki's terrible accident- my problems and aches and pains seem petty when i think of the long road she has ahead of her. cry
Now, to the scar part: all my scars are abdominal/chest. they are all surgical. (9 surgeries & counting) but i am blessed to have skin that heals really well. i swear, my chest and abdo look like a connect the dots exercise. my favourite would be the least painful one- my appendix. i was recently at my doctor for stomach pains and as he examined me he said "it must be your appendix" while he stared STRAIGHT at the spot where my appendix formerly resided. i pointed the scar out. needless to say, he was a little caught off guard!
Love you Meg, always and always and bunches turn

Thank you for the post and you are a gem.  I am with Maz, as I have had a tough week but so minor compared to what Nikki is going through.

I have lots of scars but none of them were accidental, all surgical related.  Let's just say I do not wear any bikinis........LOL.

Luvs at ya my dear friend,

I have an upside down peace sign on my abdomen. I wouldn't say any of them were favorites, because the surgeries that caused them hurt like the dickens. Like the above all surgically related. I have lost count with the number of surgeries I have had, I know its over 10-11. Geesh!!!

DUDE! I have a few abdominal scars (surgery to take out my right ovary)... But...

My 'favorite' scar is the one that I obtained accidentally... When I was little... SOMEHOW (I got conflicting stories from my mom and dad about how it happened), I busted my head open... (Yeah, yeah. Make all the 'you've been dropped on your head' jokes, you want. :P) So... I have a scar on my forehead (it's barely visible now, but if you look close enough, you can see it)....

So... what's so cool about that?

I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Hey Faery Sis!

I've missed seeing you! My favorite scar is in the shape of Florida on my thumb when my baby sis was throwing some tonka trucks around all mad at the parents, and when I went to calm her down, I got the dump truck right in the thumb, lol. She calmed down all right when she saw she hurt me, started crying, then I had to rock her for about an hour to show her I was okay and still loved her :)

I have one on the top of my foot from dropping the toothed bar of the hay mower on it when I was young, helping my dad to sharpen the teeth. Fortunately, the tooth that landed on my foot hadn't been sharpened yet; unfortunately, that meant it was still rusty...

Stretch marks count!! Yes indeed. Thanks to all for sharing your stories, it's put a grin on my face. I am as they say "accident prone" so I always have bruises (I really should stop surfing!) and I am glad that my HW buddies do to. They are a part of us and a history of the life we have lived. Surgeries we were brave enough to get through, children we gave life, countries we defended and percy my dear I hope you got that tetanus shot!!!  smhair Meg

I have a scar just below my bottom lip, it's very tiny, but I remember getting it very well, I was in 2nd grade and my dog had just had surgery.  My dad laid his work overalls down on the floor for her to lay on and I got down on the floor and while I was petting her, she bit me, her top teeth went on the inside of my lip and her bottom teeth on the outside, so it went all the way through.  I was so shocked, because she had always been the sweetest, calmest dog ever.  We found out later that my Dad had left a screwdriver in his overalls and she had rolled onto it and that's when she bit me, so we really couldn't blame her.  Anyway, it is a reminder of a wonderful and very beloved childhood pet, so I've never minded having it.

Wow! See scars can be great reminders of what is precious to us. My dog bit clean through my thumb when we were playing one day. She was so upset!!! I cherish that scar because now she is gone I still have a memory of her with me.
