Hi, all-

I'm a newbie here; this looks like a terrific resource.

My anxiety tends to show up mostly in the form of insomnia or procrastinating on something I don't want to deal with (taxes, anyone?).

I've been on Cymbalta for a week; my doctor started me on 20 mg in the morning (concurrent with 150 mg of Wellbutrin, which I hope to work down from after Cymbalta takes hold). I'm also on Ritalin for ADD (not the H type). My doctor thinks Cymbalta could help me in terms of ADD symptoms, too.

I know everyone's chemistry and reaction to meds is different, but I'd welcome hearing from other Cymbalta users about:
- Starting dose and ongoing maintenance dose
- When you take it -- a.m. or p.m. (or both)
- How long to feel initial positive results, and full results
- How long to get through side effects
- Success stories; how it's made a difference for you.

I'm hoping it will work well for me once it kicks in, but I'm very tired and wondering if I should start taking it at night instead.

Thanks in advance for any advice and encouragement!

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  We are so much more then a resource group.  We are a peer support group or as we say in this forum, we are a family. :)

Support groups are a place for people to give and receive both emotional and practical support as well as to exchange information. People with health conditions, as well as their friends and families find support groups to be a valuable resource and get confirmation that their feelings are "normal", educate others, or just let off steam. IMHO joining a support group is joining a family. Welcome to the family.

I take Cymbalta but  answering the questions would not really help you unless you have a specific problem you are dealing with and wondering if anyone else has eperienced it.

Each person is different and all the side effects and dosing info are on the Cymbalta official website.

Another place you may want to look at for info would be our search feature above..........just type in Cymbalta.

Again welcome aboard.

I don't take Cymbalta, but I have had experience with my meds seeming to make me feel more tired. I take my Paxil at bedtime, and things are fine on that front now.

You should bring up the tiredness with your doctor and see what advice s/he has. My doc is very good about listening and thinking carefully about when it's best for me to take my various meds.
