Hello Family!

Sorry I have not been on as much due to work and personal issues, but I thought I would touch base and let everyone know that you are in my thoughts and prayers :) This brings me to today's questions:

~~~How has HealingWell and all of the great forums impacted your life? What caused you to come here for Peer Support?~~~
Take care all!
Your Bro Sam :)
Great question Bro :-)
I came to HealingWell after I went through a serious breakdown and had made some life altering changes in my life.
I was sitting home everyday alone and crying so I went online looking for a support group where I could ask for help and offer help to others. I liked what I saw in the forums and jumped in with both feet ready to believe that there were kind and caring people online that truly understood what I was going through.
I did find many wonderful members here and in no time at all I was a bondafide member of HW.
I continue to support the wonderful members and to ask for help for myself when I need too.
IMHO joining a support group is joining a family and depending on just one person in the family is not always healthy and may defeat the purpose of being a member of a group. Therefore I have always tried to  give to as many as possible and take advice and support from all the members.
HealingWell is a great place for many.
Good Morning!!!
Healing Well has really helped me realize that I am not crazy and that many people out there are going through the same things I am. I also like this forum because everyone is so open, honest and genuine in their concern.
I came here because the day I turned 30 in September I went to dinner and had what I now realize was a panic attack. Happy birthday, huh? I had all these strange symptoms and nobody could figure out what was wrong with me for MONTHS. So I googled a bunch of my symptoms and up came the Healing Well forum. What a blessing it has been. I can ask questions without feeling like a goober and get honest answers! This is a great place to be=)
Have a great day!
I came to Healing Well because I didn't have anyone I could talk to who knew what I was going through with Crohn's disease... and there were questions I had... and everybody is so friendly...
I came to this forum, Anxiety/Panic, in particular fairly recently.... (Sometime last year, I believe)... Because my Crohn's disease was acting up (not to mention the problem I was having with my right ovary)... and I was freaking out right and left over every little thing... and I wasn't sleeping hardly... I was a mess...
It helps to know there are supportive people who have an idea of what you're going through....
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.
I came to Healing Well forum after doing some searching on the web and looking at the activity level of several anxiety/panic forums. I came here, and BINGO! =)
There are honestly days in which I DON'T want to come here, read, post, and talk about my issues. But I know I need to if I want to get better and get past the things that hold me back in life. And being here, reading others posts, responding with (I hope!) helpful and encouraging messages ultimately helps me, because there are days when I would rather just hole up and ignore things. This forum keeps me looking forward and usually moving forward. It gives me hope, courage, and most important to me, I've begun to dream again about the possibilities for my future.
My heartfelt thanks to all of you!
"We're afraid!" they replied.
"Come to the edge," he said.
He pushed them, and they flew...
I found healing well during a very bad point with my a/p and agoraphobia several years ago.  I felt at home immediately and received so much amazing support.  It is so comforting to come here and post feelings, symptoms and fears and find out that you're not alone, and that what you are feeling is anxiety and not some horrible disease, that was such a huge help to me.  Although I hate that anyone has this miserable condition, it is nice to know that I'm not the only one going through it and I believe that the honest sharing and caring here is one of the main factors in my getting better.
I found HealingWell while searching for information on fibromyalgia. Gradually I moved around to all of the different things that I have had to deal with. I find this forum to be very upbeat so I like to read here once in a while. I suffered with anxiety and panic for many years, fortunately I haven't had to suffer with it for a long time due to medications. And I guess changing the way that I think too.
But I find that the A/P forum reinforces the positive aspects of life for me, and that is why I find it so enjoyable to read here.
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs, Karen
I had questions about what I was going through, and no one to answer them. It was great to find others here who knew up from down!
Hi All
I found HW after my doctor mentioned looking into a self support group on the net, It was great advice as i found for the first time people who could relte to what i was going through with my GAD and let me talk about what was going on and get support from people who have been in the same situation. HW is a really good forum and a great place to come for support and to give support to other members.
Take Care
I came to HW after doing a search for a message board for those struggling with depression. I was relieved and comforted to see that there was not only a board for depression, but also for A&P, as I deal with both of these in my life. The people here are incredibly supportive and compassionate, and I've found that it has really helped me to spend time with those who can relate.....I don't feel so isolated anymore. :-)
