I don't have a regular doctor at the moment, because when we switched insurances, the Dr. I was seeing doesn't accept it & it was costing $50 per appointment to see him! So today I called into my OB's office to see about getting meds. OF COURSE when I need them, my Dr. is on vacation until Monday, lol. But atleast I made the call & actually felt instant relief as soon as I got off the phone! I thought I recognized the nurse's voice that answered the phone, but wasn't sure until after she said she remembered me. But when she asked what his was regarding I said "Dr. ____ knows my story & situation, but I've been having some really bad anxiety recently, and wanted to see about getting something for it." And she said "I remember you, and I just can't imagine. But we can absolutely help you." One of the main reasons I also called her instead of trying to get into a new Dr right now is because we're not preventing pregnancy & I'm hoping that she'll give me something like Xanax so I don't have to be weened off of it & can take it as needed for anxiety.

Anyway, just thought I would share. I'm so glad I finally called!

You do need to wean off of Xanax if you take it regularly. Please don't forget that. It's the same with any of the other anti-anxiety drugs, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium. If you take it only "as needed", then it shouldn't be a problem. Take care!
Anxiety Disorder
60 mg. Prozac, Ativan as needed.
