Change in sleep pattern

I have always been a good sleeper. However, with this latest round of anxiety treated with an increase in my buspar to 45 mg/day and increase in my desipramine to 150 mg/day I have begun sleeping well only every other night. On the other night I am wide awake and rarley sleep more than 3-4 hours. On the good night I can sleep 7-8 hours no probelm. I also am taking Ativan .25/3x day until the Buspar and Despiramine level gets up. I have tried everything and just can't  sleep well every night. This make me nervous as I am really tired the next day and dont function well. I also don't like being up while everyone else is sleeping-makestime go very slowly. Any ideas?

You might try to spread your Ativan out over 24 hours.  Take one in the early evening b/4 bedtime and then have a dose to use in the middle of the night when you wake up and cannot get back to sleep.

Hello LL,

Welcome to my world.. hahaha. J-K .. I'm a night person. I feel asleep about 7am and just got up its 2pm here.
I have been this way for many many years.

Now what helped me level out for about a year. Was extra hard work at work. And exercise. A lot. To the point I was just tired. I had a lot of extra energy and needed to burn it off.
It felt really good to work harder and exercise, and have the energy to do it. I turned into super mom for a year. I put whatever I could on my plate that was non stressful for that time. Loved it.
Changed jobs and now I'm back to my old self. UP all night and sleep during the day.

And yes I can totally understand the long nights. I dug myself in online roll playing games (MMORPG) and now I'm trying not to sit at the computer so much so I took up cross stitching and soon to be loom weaving. Just so it doesn't feel like I'm up for huge amounts of time. It feels more normal except the creeping around the house trying to be quite so I don't wake hubby up.

Hopefully your sleep gets squared away. I would chat with the doc and mention your concerns. If it happened at the same time your meds where upped. It might fix itself once the levels have adjusted.
