good morning,
i am an aggressive tooth brusher, in may 08 i noticed that my gum had separated from the tooth and started a painful journey i am still not healed from.  The pain was somewhat like the feeling of a canker sore (tingle and burning); however, once i went to the periodontist to get the gum graft done, it spread to all over my face to include mouth/teeth and tongue and scalp.  I went to a neurologist who ordered a cat scan/mri and blood work and found nothing, no pinched nerve anywhere to be found.  I was on gabapentin with no luck and just recently changed to neurontin.  my neurologist states that the nerve was irritated and needs time to heal.... over a year now and it has not healed.  i do have a tendancy to hold frustrations inside; should i begin some type of anti anxiety medication along with the neurontin???  i feel i am going crazy with no where else to turn.  thanks for listening and taking the time to read this post.

I would talk with your family doc about all you are experiencing. They will best be able to tell you if a anxiety med is needed. Good luck!
