Good Day everyone, I surely hope all is doing well. I haven't posted lately, I've been having a real rough time so I'm just been focusing on getting through each day. I went back to my interal doctor yesterday to follow up on the fever that I've now had for over 3 months. He looked everything over and checked all new symptons I've been having, and he just simply said to me, he had no idea what the cause was, so that sent my spinning. He is referring me out to an infectious disease doctor. I'm pretty nervous about that, because that sounds pretty serious to me! Not sure when the appt is yet. I also saw the therapist yesterday. As you all know I didn't really enjoy my first session w/ the P doctor but he sent me over to a lady who is the therpaist. She was very nice and asked alot of detailed questions, and got into my past and childhood which really brought up alot of tears and anxiety. But overall I do like her and look foward to working with her about my anixety and hopefully calming it. Thank You all again for your continued support

I am glad you Internal Medicine physician is referring you to a specialist.

An infectious diseases specialist is a doctor of internal medicine who is qualified as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. The special skills of the infectious diseases specialist are not confined to a single organ system or cause; they include expertise in infections of any type (such as sinuses, lungs, urinary, bowel, bones or pelvic organs) and any cause (bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic. Along with this knowledge comes a particular insight into the use of antibiotics and their potential adverse effects. The infectious diseases specialist also has a deep understanding of immunology (how the body fights infection), epidemiology (how infections spread), and infection control.

I feel this is a good thing for you if you want to get to the bottom of what is causing the fever. The answer may be very simple but it takes one who specializes in infections to find the cause.

Take care and know we are right here for you.

Gentle Hugs

Thank You Kitt for explaining that more in detail. That relieves some stress about the appt. I surely hope that he/she is going to be able to get to the bottom of this crazy fever! And I too am glad I connected well with the therapist, there were a few awkard moments but overall I feel it was a good session.

Hey, Blessed! Great to hear from you. I hope you're feeling better. Keeping yourself calmly occupied, I hope? Don't fret. Stay positive. Things will get better!
