I have suffered with anxiety/panic for over 20 years and am for the most part housebound currently. I go my doctor's appointment (with my husband driving) but even then will have attacks - it is getting ridiculous b/c I am now even having them at home (mostly when I am alone - my husband recently had to travel and I was left with the kids it was a nightmare!)

I cannot handle most of the medication and haven't found much that really relieves it. I am on Risperdal, a low dose of Clonazepam and take 1/2 to whole 0.25 Xanax as needed - I also recently started taking something called Calm Spirit that is vitamin/herbal based that was recommended that helps just a little but not that much. All the SSRI and other meds seem to cause me horrible side effects and I can't take them.

Out of all the doctors, therapist, psychs, etc. I had a doctor mention if I have ever tried EMRD therapy, which I haven't b/c I had never heard of it. I think I might have found a lady near me that does it and was wondering if anyone has had any success with it.

I hope all is well with everyone. Have a great day!

Blessings to all,

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a comprehensive, integrative psychotherapy approach. It contains elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies.

I would ask your therapist to give you an indepth explanation of this therapy and it is worth a try for sure.

Take care,
