Hi everyone, I have suffered with anxiety on & off for most of my adult life, I don't suffer often but when I do it hits hard, over the last 6 days I have been having an almost continuious panic attack resulting in me not getting any more than between 2-4 hours sleep a night, sometimes as in the case of last night no sleep at all, even as I'm typing this I'm going through a very strange experience whereby my head keeps nodding forward, I pass out & wake up with a fright seconds later when my brain tells my lungs to breathe, I'm so freaked out right now, I don't know how to deal with this, I'm so desperate for some sleep, please help cry

Hi not2calm,

I can relate. My anxiety when elevated will keep me awake to. I do have some insomnia, so I do take something every night to help me sleep. Lately with increased anxiety even the meds are starting to not help much. Have you ever talked to your doctor about this anxiety/no sleep problem? Maybe they could help you out. My pdoc is the biggest believer (next to myself) that sleep is the most important thing we all need to keep our anxiety/depression etc in check. And it's so true. Without sleep it makes it very difficult to stay calm and stable.

Hope you can get some help with this maybe and get some rest.

Take care,
Bipolar II, Anxiety/Panic Disorder
Clonazepam .5mg as needed, Methoprazine 6 mg/day, Lexapro 10 mg/day  & Lamictal 400 mg/day.

yeah mogli that's one reason I keep worrying I won't stay feeling good for a long period of time because I know when I don't get enough sleep i feel absolutely terrible and it doesn't feel like I can even control it with anything at that point. Lately I personally have slept beter though. Always good wehn you can sleep good, so hopefully you all are able to soon.
