Currently on clonzapam 1 mg twice a day  I also take citalopram 20 mg once a day and mirtazapine 15 mg at bedtime.  I don't think it does a darn thing.  Was on 2mg alprazolam 3-4 times a day, but asked doc for something diferent.  I don't want to become addicted.  I'm a recovering alchohlic.  Is there anything else out there that controlls severe anxiety panic attacks and constantly being very very agitated?  everything aggrivates me since i've been on clonzapam.  I get worked up almost immediately and takes hours to calm down.  anybody have any ideas or suggestions as what i can do to help control all this crazy crap?   My kids don't need to see me like this.

Thanks for the reply.  The alprazolam worked very well.  only priblem was it wears off to fast,  and i'm back to being worked up and frustrated an agitated.  i started on the .5 mg for a while ,  worked for few hours then back to goin crazy.  Then they up'd it to 1 mg,  same thing,  then 2mg.  they just don't seem to last long enough.  they only seem to work after i get home at night and sit down and try to relax.  then they work fine.  I farm and ranch for a living and it is very stressfull occupation.  My dad is retired and and i'm working everything alone.  That is when its the worst.  and also when stuck in the house all day.  my wife just had a major surgury and i am responsible for caring for a 7 yr old  4 yr old and an 11 month old.   its harvest time for small grain, and also haying time, with leaves a small window to get my work done.  Weather is not cooperating either.  Large hail yeaserdday.  without my crop i have no incime to support my family.  i an in a small community with less than 5000 ppl in the county.  I took 9 1 mg pills clonzapam earlier and it seemed to help a very little.  I have an appt with my shrink 2moro to discuss what can be done.  only problrm with alprazolam is i'm afraid of becoming addicted.  I've been sober now for 16 months,  but i know how addiction aaworks

I am sorry you are under so much stress but I am really worried about your using Klonopin 9mg all at one time as this does not sound like a Drs. order.

The initial dose for panic disorders is 0.25 mg twice daily. The dose may be increased to the target dose of 1 mg daily after 3 days.

I strongly suggest you call your Dr. before taking any more medication. Self dosing is dangerous.

the doc says 1 mg twice a day.  doesn't do a darn thing.  9mg a day don't do a darn thing either.  I think clonzopam is not the right med for me.  I have an appt wed. with my shrink to try figure all this crap out.  Homefully something else will help.  If not i reckon it's back to the alprazolam.  I was on it for quite a while-about 3 years- but like i said i am a recovering drunk and don't wanna get hooked.  I havent so far, even on multible doses of 2mg a day,  but you never know when the addiction decides to rear its ugly head again,
